What's Open, Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Boston
Libraries, retail stores and most post offices are open for business Dec. 24.

Here's a handy list of what's open (and closed) this weekend:
Monday, Dec. 24:

- Retail stores: Most open, some with varied hours.
- Supermarkets, liquor stores and convenience stores: Most open.
- Bars and restaurants: Most open, click here for a list of Boston restaurants open on Christmas Eve.
- Stock market: Closes at 1 p.m.
- Municipal offices: Closed.
- Banks: Some open, most close early.
- Libraries: Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Schools: Closed.
- Post office: Open, although many will close at noon. Regular mail delivery will take place, last mailbox collections will be at noon.
- MBTA: Operating on a modified schedule.
- Parking Meters: In effect.
- Municipal Tow Lot: Open 8 a.m. - noon.
- Trash/Recycling: Regular schedule.
Tuesday, Dec. 25:
- Retail stores: Closed.
- Supermarkets and liquor stores: Closed.
- Convenience stores: Most open.

- Stock market: Closed.
- Municipal offices: Closed.
- Banks: Closed.

- MBTA: Operating on a modified schedule.
- Parking Meters: Free, time limit in effect.
- Municipal Tow Lot: Closed, reopens Monday at 7 a.m.
- Trash/Recycling: Regular schedule.
