Your local weekend forecast, learn to skate classes, a Filipino culinary delights luncheon and more in Wilmington on June 7.

 

1. Your Weekend Forecast:

  • According to the National Weather Service, there is an 80 percent chance of rain Friday with a high of 63 expected.  Expect an east wind from 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph and patchy fog between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • There is a 90 percent chance of showers Friday night with a low of 53 expected. 
  • Saturday there is a 60 percent chance of rain earlier in the day, with a high of 71 expected. Otherwise Saturday will be cloudy, with a northeast wind from 5 to 13 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. 
  • There is a 30 percent chance of showers Saturday night which will be otherwise cloudy with a low of around 54. Expect patchy fog after 2 a.m.
  • Sunday will be  partly sunny, with a high near 74. Expect patchy fog before 8 a.m.
  • Sunday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Expect patchy fog after 5am

3. It's Happening Today: Has watching the Bruins dominance of the Pittspurgh Penguins got you itching to lace up your skates? Before you do, check out the Learn-To-Skate classes happening at Ristuccia Arena on Friday afternoons. Classes are from 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. or 5:20 p.m. to 6:10 p.m.  Learn the basics of skating all the way through freestyle skating, which includes single jumps and spins. Also offered is Learn-to-Skate hockey, which provides the necessary skating skills to become an advanced skater on your hockey team. 

4. It's Happening This Weekend: Saint Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church is having a luncheon of Filipino culinary delights from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m in the church's downstair hall. The price is $5 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger.
