- There is a 60 percent chance of rain Thursday before 1 p.m. with a high near 71. A light and variable wind becomes south 5 to 8 mph in the morning. There is also a chance of thunderstorms Thursday after 5 p.m.

5. ICYMI: The Wilmington Fire Department responded to a large brush fire on Salem Street just after 8 p.m. on Monday night. Deputy Fire Chief Rick McClellan said the fire was nothing major, but that a pile of tires and mattresses that were illegally dumped caught fire.
