Community Comes To Aid Of Grieving Wilmington Family

A mother of three and devoted nurse died recently. Her family was "devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss."

WILMINGTON, MA — The community is coming together to support a family after a nurse and mother of three died unexpectedly.

Julie LeBlanc, of Wilmington, died Sept. 16, leaving her family with "an overwhelming financial burden."

She was known for "her tireless work in the ICU at Mount Auburn Hospital, particularly during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic," according to a GoFundMe statement.

A GoFundMe has been started for the family by Karolyn LeBlanc on behalf of Derek LeBlanc.

Karolyn LeBlanc wrote the following in the fundraiser appeal: "Our family has been devastated by the sudden and unexpected loss of Julie. We are setting up this account to help ease the financial burden on Derek and the children, allowing them to focus on healing and processing the loss of their mother.

"Julie was an amazing mother and wife; nothing will be able to fill the void she has left behind.

"So many friends are asking how they can help, and at this time, this is the one way to feel like we can come together to help Derek with one less thing to worry about."

So far $55,677 has been raised on 557 donations.
