A local family is safe after a fire in their home Sunday afternoon. Police and firefighters were on the scene of a fire on Pleasant Road just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Reports said the fire was showing from the rear of a home. Wilmington Police said the family in that home was safely evacuated.
