Firefighters Quickly Knock Down Brush Fire on Glen Road

No homes or personal property was damaged by the fire Wednesday afternoon.

The Wilmington Fire Department quickly knocked down a brush fire Wednesday afternoon in the Glen Road area.

The fire, which was reported just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, was in the area behind 93 Glen Road.

Wilmington Fire Department Lt. William F. Cavanaugh, III said when crews arrived they encountered a brush fire that was approximately 80 feet by 80 feet.

Fire crews were able to knock down the main body of the fire within about 10 minutes and remained on scene for about 45 minutes wetting down hot spots.

No homes or personal property was damaged by the fire.
