Monday Essentials: A Production of 'Cinderella,' a Craft Beer Workshop and More

Here are Five Things to get your week started in Wilmington on July 22.

  • According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Expect an east wind from 5 to 8 mph.

  • Tuesday there is 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 79. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Expect patchy fog before 9 a.m.
  • There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night with a low around 66. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Expect patchy fog after 2 a.m.
  • Wednesday there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 85. Expect patchy fog before 8 a.m. 
  • Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. There is a 30 percent chance of rain.

3. It's Happening Today: Check out the Children's Theatre Workshop of Wilmington Summerstock Elementary Workshop Program of "Cinderella." Registration is still open. Classes run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. from 12 p.m.

4. Looking Ahead: Stop by the Wilmington Memorial Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 to hear beer enthusiast Ryan McRae as he explains craft beers, talks about beer history and culture and shares his knowledge of the local brew scene and breweries. There will also be sampling. Register here. 

5. ICYMI: In case you missed it, a Butters Row resident set up shop in her yard on Thursday evening, selling lemonade to passing cars in an effort to raise money for the Vest-a-Dog non-profit organization that provides bulletproof vests for police K-9 dogs.
