As construction continues Thursday on projects throughout town, Wilmington Police announced Thursday morning that Glen Road is closed at Middlesex Avenue for ongoing construction. Detours are in place and drivers should seek alternate routes.The project is part of <a href="https://patch.com/massachusetts/wilmington/state-grants-funding-wilmington-intersection-improvements-0">funding awarded to the town last year</a> to install fully actuated traffic signals at the intersection of Rte. 62 (Middlesex Avenue) and Glen Road, as well as the intersection of Rte. 62 and Wildwood Street to improve traffic safety. The improvements will also incorporate exclusive turn lanes, safe pedestrian crossings, and emergency vehicle signal prioritization.
