WILMINGTON, MA - It’s going to be a stormy Sunday.
Wilmington can expect strong and potentially damaging winds and heavy rain Sunday morning through the afternoon, the National Weather Service is forecasting. Most of the state is expected to receive 1 inch to 2.5 inches of rain from this system.

- Rainfall: The NWS is forecasting heavy rain Sunday morning and afternoon for the entire state, with all areas forecast to receive 1” to 2.5” of rain. Some areas may receive greater amounts if embedded thunderstorms occur. Rain may cause brief urban area and street flooding, but river and stream flooding is not expected.
- Winds: Wilmington is under a a Wind Advisory with gusts of 44 to 55 mph possible. The strongest winds are expected along coastal areas which could cause downed trees and utility lines and isolated power outages. Inland locations may still see tree damages and power outages. A High Wind Warning has been posted for Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Coastal Essex County/Cape Ann areas with gusts of 50-60 mph possible.
