Michael DiNunzio, 80, Formerly of Wilmington
Michael lived in Wilmington for more than 30 years. Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 4.

Michael DiNunzio, age 80, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on November 26, 2015.
Michael was born on March 27, 1935, in Boston, MA; he was the dear son of the late Clement J. and Amelia (Blasi) DiNunzio. Michael was raised and educated in East Boston.

On April 30, 1957, Michael was inducted into the United States Army during the beginning of the Vietnam War. Michael served overseas in the Army AUS Infantry and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged on April 23, 1959 and returned home to his family in Boston.
Michael moved to Wilmington where he resided for over 30 years. He was a hard worker in the food service industry and was a cook at Avco, Compugraphic, and Lucci’s 129 Restaurant for many years.

In his spare time, Michael enjoyed following the Boston sports teams, cooking, spending time with his family, and of course his scratch tickets.
Michael spent a wonderful Thanksgiving with his children and grandchildren just before his passing; this is a memory they will always cherish.
Michael was the dear father of Michael DiNunzio and his wife Julie of Wilmington and Mary Ann DiNunzio and her companion Stephen Aylward of Lowell. He was the loving “Grampa” of 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and the brother of the late Gerald DiNunzio and Bernadette Oddo. Michael is also survived by his life-long friend Janet as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, Dec. 4 for Visitation from 10 a.m. to Noon, immediately followed by a Service at Noon. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
