Police Log: CVS Reports Multiple Shoplifting Incidents

The following is an excerpt from the Wilmington Police log from Monday, June 17, to Tuesday, June 18.
Monday, June 17
7:20 a.m.: Caller reported a stripped out car was left in the rear parking lot by the electrical transformers at xpedx on Main Street. The person did not notice the car when leaving for the weekend. The ignition on the car was intact, but the dashboard and driver's side were ripped apart.
11:58 a.m. A Dorchester Street caller reported a woman walking around yards in the area writing license plates down. When confronted, she said to the caller, "You will see when the secret police shot up." An officer located the woman who said she is investigating items missing from her yard. She did not want police involvement but was advised not to enter other people's yards.

2:30 p.m.: Police received a call for two youths fighting on Burlington Ave. and one person videotaping. Police located the kids who were making a video project. Everything checked OK.
5:50 p.m.: Officers assisted the Fire Department with a tree on fire on Salem Street. The tree was struck by lightning, but there was no fire at the time.

6:41 p.m.: A tree was in the roadway on Salem Street, blocking half of a lane. A vehicle crashed into the tree while the officer was on scene. The Fire Department was requested due to shatter glass from the windshield and a small child with minor injuries as a result.
Tuesday, June 18
2:30 a.m.: CVS reported a shoplifted with a vehicle leaving the scene heading down Main Street towards the train station. A 42-year-old Connecticut man was summonsed for shoplifting greater than $100 by asportation and possession of a burglarious instrument.
2:34 p.m.: An anonymous caller from Town Hall reported a man was in the area seemingly trying to lure juveniles into his vehicle. An officer transported two juvenile females to a nearby home.
2:58 p.m.: Police received a tip that two men in a New Hampshire vehicle will be robbing As Good As It Gets soon. The vehicle was not on scene when police arrived.
10:28 p.m.: A caller reported that he was involved in a hit and run in front of Cumberland Farms. A 22-year-old Wilmington resident was summonsed for leaving the scene of property damage and marked lanes violation.
