Residents Want to Bring Trader Joe's to Wilmington
A Facebook page has residents hoping Trader Joe's representatives hear their request to bring the store to Wilmington.
For years residents have expressed their desire to have a Trader Joe’s right here in town.
After Staples closed in January 2013, residents hoped that would be a spot the company would consider for a new location. Today, there’s chatter that perhaps Trader Joe’s would work in the former Walgreens location on Main Street which closed last summer.
A social media group on Facebook one entitled “Bring Trader Joe’s to Wilmington, MA” has residents banding together in the hopes Trader Joe’s representatives hear their request.

The page has more than 300 members and continues to grow.
Trader Joe’s encourages residents in towns without one of their markets to request a location -- no guarantees, of course. There’s even an online form you can fill out to recommend a location where you’d like to see a Trader Joe’s, even right here in Wilmington.

Trader Joe’s currently has 14 locations in Massachusetts. The closest location to Wilmington residents is in Burlington at 51 Middlesex Turnpike.
