Santa Claus is Coming to Town Saturday, Dec. 5

Santa Claus is expected to make his appearance at the town’s annual tree lighting on Saturday night, but before that he’s going to be making a surprise trip around town and you could find him on your street!

Thanks to Wilmington’s Police and Fire Departments, Santa will be swinging into town early to help welcome in the holidays! He will be traveling all around town in a small parade of vehicles with Christmas music.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, listen for sirens and Christmas music as a parade of police cars and fire trucks take Santa Claus for a tour of Wilmington! Santa’s tour of the town will leave the Public Safety building at approximately 10 a.m.

When you hear him coming, come on out and wave hello!

Santa’s tentative route will visit the following areas (times are approximate):

• 10-10:30 a.m. - Metro Apartment Complex (Burlington Ave), Harris Street, Grand Street, Amherst Street, Shawsheen Avenue, Sherburn Place, Jacquith Road, Houghton Road, Wilton Drive, Hopkins Street, Shawsheen Commons, Nichols Street, Grace Drive, Harold Street, Reed Street

• 10:30-11 a.m. - Aldrich Road, Apache Way, Bailey Road, Boutwell Street, Taft Road, Roosevelt Road, Burlington Avenue, Dell Drive, Swain Road, Forest Street, Edwards Road, Sherwood Road, Deming Way. Chestnut Street, Marion Street, Towpath Drive, Apple Tree Lane, Butters Row, Elizabeth Drive
