Selectmen's Notebook: Pacific Grove Granted Entertainment License

Comcast announces fee decreases.

The newest Asian restaurant in town will also be the newest entertainment venue.

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a request by Victor Hui, owner of the new Pacific Grove restaurant at 217 Lowell St., for an entertainment license.

Hui told selectmen the music he planned to book would not be loud and would not create problems for his Lowell Street neighbors. Hui said the genres of the musicians would likely be Country and Jazz.

In other business:

  • Town Manager Jeff Hull read correspondence from Comcast, outlining slight decreases for several fees charged by the company. For example, installation of additional outlets will drop from $14.15 to $13.35 and Connection of a VCR/DVD after the initial installation will drop from $19.10 to $16.35.
  • Selectmen approved a request from Superintendent of Schools Joanne Benton to use the Town Common for part of the new High School groundbreaking ceremony on April 25.
  • The board unanimously approved the renewal of a license for Wilmington Taxi.
  • The board approved a request made by the Memorial Day Parade Committee to schedule the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27.
  • The board approved a request by Dana Burnham to slightly change the dates of the Wilmington Farmers' Market, so as not to conflict with the multi-day Fourth of July Celebration.
