Town Hall to Close the Day After Thanksgiving
Plus a look at all town building holiday closings Thanksgiving week and the new holiday schedule as a result of contract negotiations.

Town Hall and other municipal offices, including the Buzzell Senior Center and Wilmington Memorial Library will be closed for business on the Friday after Thanksgiving, Town Manager Jeffrey Hull announced Tuesday.
Wilmington town offices will close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 30.
This changes does not impact Police, Fire or Public Safety Dispatch Departments, as they remain open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The new schedule is the result of negotiations with two of the town’s employee unions. In each case the employees gave up an earned day off for the day After Thanksgiving. The change has the potential to produce minor operational savings as well, in electricity, heating oil, and natural gas for the impacted buildings.
