From creating winter wreaths to children’s events and a welcome to Wilmington reception, here’s what’s on tap at Wilmington Memorial Library this week and next:

Winter Wreaths with Elaine Sousa, Saturday, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m.

Crafter Elaine Sousa will help you create a beautiful winter wreath using various ribbons, sprigs, and other embellishments plus a little snow to add that winter touch. Feel free to bring some of your own trimmings, and your own glue gun if you have one, to add a personal touch.

Register at the main desk (limit 15 cost $15, ages 16+)

Welcome to Wilmington Reception, Monday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Are you new to Wilmington or have you lived here for a while and want to know more about the community? Come to the Welcome to Wilmington Reception! This is your chance to learn about local organizations and services and to meet others from the community. There will be community group representatives on hand to welcome you and answer questions. Please register. Refreshments will be served.

Babies and theircaregivers will enjoy this fun story time that includes rhymes, songs, books, scarves, shakers, bubbles and more. Infants through 24 months

Dads and Donuts, Saturdays, Nov. 21, 10:30 a.m.

Dads and their kids ages 2 and up are invited to drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and more. Moms, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome, too! Ages 2-5 and one or more adults.

Thanksgiving Week Hours and Closings

  • Wednesday, Nov. 25: Closing at 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 26: Closed Thanksgiving Day
  • Friday, Nov. 27: Closed the day after Thanksgiving
