From an event for job seekers, to local author discussions and more, see what's on tap this week at the library.

Here’s a look at events happening at the Tewksbury Public Library for the week of July 27:

  • Tewksbury Job Seekers Network Meeting - Monday, July 27, 2-3:30 p.m.: Learn how to improve your job search and land the job you really want with career coach Clare Harlow. Reexamine your interests and skills – some you may not even realized you have – to find the job that’s the right fit for you.
  • An Evening with Linda Brossi Murphy, Author of “F*** Off, Cancer” - Tuesday, July 28, 7-8:30 p.m.: Learn about a Massachusetts woman who successfully beat cancer by turning her fight into “one big party.”
  • A Book Brunch with Ianna Hondros-McCarthy, Author of “Stickier Rice, Clearer Purpose” - Wednesday, July 29, 10:30 a.m. to noon: Learn the basics of Buddhism and mindfulness from a local young author who studied the religion in Thailand. Complimentary brunch food provided.
  • An Evening with August Cole, Author of “Ghost Fleet: A Novel of the Next World War” - Thursday, July 30, 7-8:30 p.m.: Learn about national security threats and weapons of the future that America, and the world, will one day confront.
  • Friday Night Film Screening of “The Longest Ride” - Friday, July 31, 8:30-10:30 p.m.: Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases, “The Longest Ride,” a PG-13-rated romance starring Alan Alda, Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson. The film is based on the Nichols Sparks novel with the same name. After an automobile crash, the lives of a young couple intertwine with a much older man, as he reflects back on a past love. Complimentary movie snacks provided.

All events are free thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library. (Film screenings are also co-sponsored by the Tewksbury Lions Club.) All events are held in the library’s first-floor, air-conditioned Meeting Room. A book selling and signing will take place after each author event. There is no obligation to purchase a book.

Registration is required for all events. Register by calling 978-640-4490 ext. 205, emailing rhayes@mvlc.org, visiting the library’s online calendar of events at www.tewksburypl.org or stopping by the library’s Front Desk.
