Believe it or not the first day of school is just a few short weeks away. Parents and students, alike, are enjoying as much of the summer as they can, while also getting back-to-school clothes and supply shopping handled.

So when is the first day of school for Wilmington Public School students?

  • Tuesday, Sept. 1: First day of school for students in grade one through 12.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 8: First day of school for children in preschool and kindergarten.

There is no school on Friday, Sept. 4 or on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.

  • Wednesday, Nov. 11: No School, Veterans Day
  • Friday, Nov. 20: Early release day
  • Wednesday, Nov. 25: Early release day
  • Thursday, Nov. 26: No school, Thanksgiving
  • Friday, Nov. 27: No school
  • Thursday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Jan. 1: No school, December vacation
  • Monday, Jan. 4: Classes resume
