Wilmington Halloween Happenings and Holiday Guide
Here's a rundown of everything Halloween related in town this year, including the Horribles Parade, Haunted Woods, safety tips and more.

Halloween is almost here and there a lot of events and information for Wilmington residents to have a fun and safe Halloween.
We broke it all down for you. Here’s everything you need to know:
48th Annual Horribles Parade is Sunday, Oct. 25
Wilmington’s 48th Annual Horribles Parade is Sunday, Oct. 25 at 4:30 p.m.

Children are invited to participate in costume. Participants will march from the Public Safety Building to the high school cafeteria where goodies galore await costumed children.
In case of inclement weather, go directly to the High School. Don’t forget to bring a bag for all your treasures!

Haunted Woods at Harnden Tavern 23-24
For two weekends starting on Oct. 16, the grounds of the town museum are once again playing host to the return of this spooktacular Halloween event.
According to Friends Productions, which puts on the event that allows visitors to roam the historic building and grounds not knowing what’s in store for them, this year’s haunt will have 10 different attactions, including four new ones never seen before.
The Haunted Woods takes place for one more weekend, Oct. 23 and 24 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. (last ticket sales end at 9:30 p.m.). Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults.
Sixth Annual Halloween Walk for WEF Oct. 29
The Wilmington Educational Foundation will hold its 6th Annual Halloween “Walk for WEF” on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Students taking part in the walk can dress in their Halloween costumes for the day and take part in a fun parade outside around their school building.
All students at the Boutwell Early Childhood Center, Wildwood Early Childhood Center, Woburn Street Elementary School, Shawsheen Elementary School, North Intermediate School and West Intermediate School are encouraged to participate.
This popular fundraiser has raised more than $115,000 since its inception, including nearly $20,000 last year.

Tips for Safe Trick or Treating
- If you’re going “Trick or Treating” at Halloween, remember these safety tips, so you can have fun and keep safe at the same time.
- Always go trick or treating with an adult.
- Only go to houses where you or your friends know the residents.
- Don’t knock on doors where there is a sign saying “NO callers” or there are no outside lights on.
- Stay in areas that are lit with streetlights - take a flashlight with you just in case.
- Stay with your friends - don’t split into smaller groups unless an adult goes with you.
- Don’t talk to strangers on the street.
- Don’t enter any house, stay on the doorstep.
- Always look carefully before crossing the road, even if you are part of a group.
- Be visible.
