Wilmington High School Received Threat Monday

The threat was unfounded, as Wilmington High was one of a dozen schools to receive threats across the Commonwealth on Monday.

WILMINGTON, MA - No threat was found Monday after Wilmington High School received a robocall bomb threat putting a shelter-in-place for students while officials searched the school.

Superintendent Mary DeLai said the shelter-in-place was for approximately 20 minutes while administrators and public safety officials searched the building. No threat was found.

Wilmington was one of a dozen different school districts across Massachusetts to receive a threat on Monday, including nearby Billerica.

Parents received an email from Principal Linda Peters Monday afternoon saying the high school received a ”low risk threat” by phone Monday afternoon. The message went on to say Wilmington High School officials followed their threat assessment protocol which required contacting police and conducting a search of the building. The search was conducted while a shelter-in-place was implemented. The search revealed nothing suspicious.
