Wilmington To Hold Charity Softball Game And Cornhole Tournament
The 4th annual Guns & Hoses event will feature a Police vs. Fire softball game. Proceeds will be split between two charities.

WILMINGTON, MA —The Wilmington Fire Department and Wilmington Police Department will be hosting the 4th annual Guns & Hoses Charity Softball Game and Cornhole Tournament later this month.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Town Park, which is located at 791 Main Street. All proceeds from the event will be split between Cops for Kids with Cancer and the Wilmington Fire Memorial Construction Foundation Fund.
The cornhole contest, which features two-person teams, is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. that afternoon. Prizes will be awarded for first-place and second-place.

The contest costs $30 to enter, and teams can register in advance via Venmo to Bill Cavanaugh or Morganbreen1, according to event organizers. Teams should include a team name and the names of team members when they register.
Teams also will have a chance to register for the contest in person at 10 a.m. on the day of the event.

The Police vs. Fire softball game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
The afternoon also will feature food and drinks — soda and water —a 50/50 raffle, gift cards, gift baskets and a DJ.
