Wilmington Resident, State Police Sgt. Kenneth Carroll Jr. Dead At 53
Carroll spent 22 years with the Massachusetts State Police after serving in the U.S. Army. He leaves behind a wife and four children.

WILMINGTON, MA —Kenneth "Kenny" Carroll Jr., a Wilmington resident, Massachusetts State Police sergeant and Army veteran, passed away on Saturday at the age of 53 following a courageous battle with cancer, the MSP announced on social media.
Carroll was a 1986 graduate of Wilmington High School who enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1988, according to an obituary published by Nichols Funeral Home.
In the military, Carroll received many commendations for his bravery and honorable service including the Army Commendation medal, Army Achievement Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal, to name just a few. He also went on to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Carroll was hired by the MSP in 2000 and was assigned to Troop F, which protects Logan Airport and other port properties. He was promoted to sergeant in 2020 and also was active with the EOD Bomb Squad and the Motorcycle Unit.
"Kenny served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its citizens honorably for many years. He will be greatly missed by his fellow officers throughout the state," the MSP said in a statement on Saturday.

Carroll is survived by his wife Kathleen and four children.
