Wilmington School Locked Down Due To Police Activity
A school was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon as police made an arrest outside the school.

WILMINGTON, MA — Shawsheen School was put on lockdown while police were pursuing a suspect.
Police said shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday that they were pursuing a person who attempted to evade arrest during a traffic stop in front of the school. The person had warrants out for their arrest, police said.
The person was taken into custody following a brief struggle with officers.

"Out of an abundance of caution, the Shawsheen School was placed into lockdown," police said.
