Wilmington Boys Travel Basketball Announce Tryouts

WBTB will hold an will be an open house on Saturday, Sept. 14.


Wilmington Boys Travel Basketball is an independent, non-profit program for boys in grades 4 through 8.  The Boys Travel Basketball program runs form the first week in November through the first week in March.  

Wilmington Boys Travel Basketball competes in the Merrimack Valley Travel Basketball League, considered one of the best run and most competitive leagues in Massachusetts.  

Each team in the WBTB program will practice 1.5 to 3 hours a week and play 30+ games over the course of the season against teams from surrounding towns.

There will be an open house on Saturday, Sept. 14 and will consist of a free skills and drills session open to all boys between grades 4 and 8 who are interested in participating in the travel basketball program, a question and answer session for 
parents and registration for the upcoming tryouts.  

Grades 4 and 5 will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and grades 6 and 7 will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Any grade 8 boys who are new to the program are invited to participate with grades 6 and 7. 

Please have your child bring a basketball and water.

Tryout dates have been scheduled at Wilmington Middle School and are as follows:

  • Grades 4 and 5: Sept. 16, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and Sept. 17 from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
  • Grade 6: Sept. 16 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sept. 17 from 8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Grade 7: Sept. 23 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 24 from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
  • Grade 8 Sept. 23 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sept. 24 from 8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
