Wilmington Woman Charged With OUI Had 2 Kids In Car: Police

READING, MA — A woman was charged with driving drunk with two children in the car, according to police.

Megan Najarian, 49, of Wilmington, was charged with operating under the influence (second offense), marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and two counts of child endangerment while operating under the influence.

Police on patrol at 8:54 p.m. Thursday spotted a white Honda Odyssey on Salem Street in Reading attempting to make a turn too fast.

Officers activated emergency lights and after several attempts pulled the vehicle over on Lowell Street.

Police conducted a sobriety test and determined that Najarian was driving under the influence. Her blood-alcohol level was .20, more than twice the legal limit, according to police.

There were two children in the back seat of the car, police said. Both children were unharmed and were released to the care of their father.

Najarian was scheduled for arraignment in Woburn District Court on Friday.
