Wilmington's 11th Annual Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk Set for Sept. 27

Hundreds participate in annual event which continues to grow year over year.

Whether you’re a runner or a walker, now’s the time to lace up those sneakers and get ready for Wilmington’s 11th Annual Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk set for Sunday, Sept. 27.

Presented by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, the race is touted as the biggest, most well-known race in town and the event continues to grow each year. Each year the Chamber expects about 600 race participants and another 100 spectators to attend. A portion of proceeds from the race are reinvested back into the Wilmington community via scholarships.

Sponsored by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, the annual event welcomes runners, walkers, families and spectators alike. It includes a 13.1 half marathon, as well as a 3.1 mile 5K run or walk and takes place at WCTV located at 10 Waltham St.

The shotgun start begins at 10 a.m. and festivities run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration Fees:

  • Half Marathon: $30 with pre-registration / $35 on race day
  • 5K Run/Walk: $20 with pre-registration / $25 on race day
  • Registration is $15 for students age 18 and under
