Wilmington's Annual Tree Lighting is Dec. 5
The event starts at 4 p.m. and Santa Claus arrives at 6 p.m. to light the Wilmington Town Common for the season.
Wilmington’s Annual Tree Lighting takes place this year on Saturday, Dec. 5 on the town common.
The event starts at 4 p.m. and it’s filled with fun for the entire family. Then at 6 p.m. Santa Claus arrives fire engine to light the common for the season and will be available for pictures in the Fourth of July Building.

- Horse-drawn Hayrides from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- Cookies and Hot Chocolate
- Ice Sculpture sponsored by Wilmington Chamber of Commerce and Chamber members
- Wilmington Minutemen
- Christmas Carols performed by members of the Wilmington High School Music Department
- Wilmington HS Cheerleaders volunteering
- Wilmington Community Fund annual Wilmington-themed ornament sale
- Members of the Wilmington Fire Department collecting unwrapped toys and donations for Wilmington children
- Clergy from various parishes in town presenting the story of Christmas
Donate to Wilmington’s Holiday Drive to Support Recovery
Also during the event, donations will be accepted for Wilmington’s Holiday Drive to Support Recovery - the town’s first drive to support recovery and remove the stigma of addiction and its treatment. The group will be collecting supplies needed at the Fourth of July building during the tree lighting event.
