The good news is the sun returns later in the week and it's looking like a sunny day for Wilmington's annual tree lighting this weekend.

Monday is looking to be a cloudy day as many head back to work and school after the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

The week starts off with clouds and rain, but sunny skies are ahead as we look later into the week.

Monday: Mostly cloudy skies in the morning turn to overcast skies in the afternoon with a high of 39 degrees. A few clouds Monday night with a low of 27.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy to start the day before clouds increase with periods of showers in the afternoon and a high of 47. Rain showers Tuesday night will turn into more steady rain overnight with a low of 40.

Wednesday: Rain early then clouds with showers in the afternoon with a high of 51. Expect clouds with light rain Wednesday night and a low of 39.

Thursday: Considerable cloudiness Thursday morning with decreasing clouds later in the day and no rain with a high of 47. Mostly clear skies Thursday night and a low of 29.

Friday: A mostly sunny day with a high of 47. Clear skies continue Friday night with a low of 30.
