Winchester MCAS Scores Among Best in Massachusetts

The town is 9th among all school districts with 97% of 10th-grade students scoring proficient of advanced on the annual standardized test.

The 2015 MCAS scores are out. Winchester High School students placed among the best in Massachusetts. The town ranks 9th among 291 school districts with 97% of 10th-grade students scoring proficient or advanced on the annual standardized test.

Winchester ranked 20th in the state for the English Language Arts portion of the test. 99% of students earned either proficient or advanced.

The town ranked 9th in the state for the Math portion of the test. 98% of students earned either proficient or advanced.

And finally, Winchester ranked 13th in the state for the Science portion of the test. 94% of students earned either proficient or advanced.

Between the three sections, just 6% of students earned a “needs improvement” grade. Only 3% scored within the “warning/failing” area.
