1 Killed In Pedestrian Crash Christmas Morning: Worcester PD
Investigators say the woman drove away with a man hanging out of her car, then smashed into a fence and light pole, killing him.

WORCESTER, MA—A woman is facing charges that include vehicular homicide after investigators say she drove off with a man hanging halfway out of her car, backing into a fence and a light pole.
Around 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, police were called to the BP Gas Station at 37 Chandler St. where a pedestrian accident had just occurred. When officers got there, they found bystanders performing CPR on a 33-year-old man, and saw a traffic light down in the road. The victim was transported by paramedics to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, said police.
After investigation, detectives found the suspect's severely damaged car abandoned at 127 Chandler St. Investigators were familiar with the 2012 Nissan Pathfinder from previous incidents, according to police, and spoke with Susan Dixon, 58, Knowles Road, Worcester, who often drove the vehicle.

Investigators believe that Dixon drove the vehicle to the BP, spoke with the victim in the parking lot, and when he reached into the vehicle to give her something, she suddenly drove away with his body half inside the SUV. According to police, Dixon then backed into a fence, and then drove into the light pole. The victim suffered injuries to his neck, chest and abdomen. Dixon was unable to drive her car shortly after that, and she left it near 127 Chandler St. before returning home, where she was arrested.
Dixon is charged with Motor Vehicle Homicide, 2 counts of Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Personal Injury (Death), Operating to Endanger, and Operating after Suspension of License (2nd or Subsequent).
