3 Pulled Over In Worcester; Coke, Heroin, Gun, Pot Found In Car

The trio faces a slew of charges.

WORCESTER, MA—Police pulled a car over on Southbridge Street in Worcester yesterday and arrested three people on gun and drug charges. When the troopers approached the vehicle, which they had stopped for a violation, they noticed the front-seat passenger make "quick, furtive movements, causing them concern for their safety."

The driver had no license and appeared to be operating under the influence of drugs, according to state police. The two passengers were in possession of a substance believed to be heroin. The front-seat passenger was also determined to be in possession of substances believed to be cocaine and marijuana. In addition, troopers discovered a loaded .40 caliber Glock model 27 with two high capacity magazines inside the vehicle.

All three men were placed under arrest.

The driver, Mathew Miller, 26, of Worcester, and his front-seat passenger, Michael Iacovone, 47, Worcester, were both charged with the following offenses: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; Carrying a Loaded Large Capacity Firearm on a way; Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device; Carrying a Loaded Firearm; Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm in the Commission of a Felony; Possession of Ammo without an FID Card

Miller was additionally charged with: Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law; Being Present Where Heroin is Kept; Carrying a Firearm While Intoxicated; Operating Under the Influence of Drugs; License Not In Possession and; Marked Lanes Violation

Iacovone was additionally charged with: Trafficking in Heroin; Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance (Heroin); Possession of a Class B Substance (Subsequent Offense); Possession of an Open Container of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle; Seatbelt Violation

The rear-seat passenger, James Toohil, 52, Worcester, was charged with: Possession of a Class A Substance (Subsequent Offense) and Seatbelt Violation.

Miller and Iacovone were held on $5,000 and $100,000 bail, respectively, pending their arraignment in Worcester District Court Wednesday. Toohil was released on personal recognizance.
