$4M Mass Lottery Winner From Worcester

Ariana Pertena​ of Worcester won $4 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery's "Hit $1,000" game.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester woman is $4 million richer — minus taxes and incentives — after hitting a jackpot in the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Ariana Pertena is the first of two $4 million winners in the lottery's "$Hit $1,000!" instant game. She elected for the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $2,600,000 (less tax withholdings).

The winning ticket was purchased at Star Dollar & More, 363 Chandler St., in Worcester. The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.

There is one additional $4 million prize and six $1 million prizes available in the $10 “Hit $1,000!” instant game.
