$6 Million Worth Of Pot Growing In Garage, Worcester Man Arrested

Authorities busted a sophisticated marijuana operation in Clinton this week, leading to the arrest of two men.

WORCESTER, MA — Two men were arrested for allegedly growing $6 million worth of pot in a garage in Clinton, according to reports.

Clinton police, with federal agents, raided a garage on Main St. and found 1,029 marijuana plants growing in an 8,000-square foot warehouse, reports WHDH.

Sean Matt, 29, of Worcester, and Thomas Laverty, 37, of Clinton, were both arrested on trafficking, manufacturing, cultivating and distribution charges.

Inside the warehouse was a "sophisticated marijuana-growing operation," MassLive reported police as saying. That included irrigation machines, plant food, lighting and air circulating machines. Authorities also seized cash and three cars.

The seizure was the result of an ongoing investigation, and a search warrant was also executed in Millbury that same day. Both men were arraigned on Wednesday. Laverty was held on $75,000 cash, Matt on $40,000, according to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.
