Alleged Thief Robs Dollar General At Knife-Point
The suspect was well known to employees and had been banned from the store.

WORCESTER, MA—A man known to employees at the Dollar General is facing charges after allegedly robbing the store with a knife.
On Saturday, July 7, around 6:30 p.m., police were called to the Dollar General for an armed robbery on Main Street. The suspect was well known to employees and had been banned from the store. He walked over to the cell phone area and grabbed two phones, and when he was asked to leave, he took out a knife and held it in a threatening manner toward the employee. The suspect ran out of the store with the phones.
About ten minutes later two officers working detail spotted a man who matched the description on the corner of Main and Beaver Street. The victim identified Vencenzo Brancaccio, 31 of Worcester, as the male who robbed the store. Brancaccio also had an outstanding warrant, and was placed under arrest for Armed Robbery and the warrant. A knife was found on him, said police. He will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
