Arrest For Breaking In To Cars On Greenwood Street

The man refused to give his name. Once he did, police found he had a warrant out for his arrest for other charges.

WORCESTER, MA—

Around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, police were called to the area of 37 Greenwood St., where a man was reportedly breaking in to cars.

The caller gave a description of the man and said that he was inside one of the cars. While the caller was still on the phone with the dispatcher, the caller said that the suspect was riding away on a bicycle and heading south on Greenwood Street and head into the driveway at 69.

Officers ordered him off his bike. He refused to give his name and he was searched for weapons, said police. They found several knives, two flashlights and $36.60 in loose change and miscellaneous items.

The caller was able to identify the suspect.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of breaking and entering into a motor vehicle in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony.

Police found that one of the knives had a glass punch device, so he was also charged with possession of a burglarious instrument.

Eventually, the man was identified as Brian Paulsen, 55, homeless, Worcester (apparently homeless). It was further discovered that Paulsen had an active warrant out for his arrest. The warrant was for Identity Fraud and Improper Use of a Credit Card.
