​Attorney Sydney Straub Joins Mirick

Straub is an association in Mirick's Labor & Employment Group

Worcester, MA –February 24, 2025 – Mirick announces that Attorney Sydney Straub has joined the Firm as an Associate in the Firm’s Labor & Employment Law Group in the Firm’s Westborough office.

“We are pleased to welcome Sydney to our Team,” says Corey Higgins, chair of Mirick O’Connell’s Employment Law Team. “Sydney’s strong work ethic and passion for legal justice will be a true asset to our clients.”

Straub’s practice will focus on all facets of labor and employment law, primarily within the education and healthcare sectors.

“Mirick’s reputation in the community was a big draw for me,” says Straub. “Throughout my time as a paralegal and summer associate, Mirick was always a name I heard and aspired to be part of. I’m thrilled to join the Firm and look forward to working hard for the benefit of clients.”

Straub is a graduate of Boston University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Prior to joining the Firm, Sydney worked as a Summer Associate at Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass LLP in New York where she worked on various civil litigation matters including insurance coverage, construction disputes, and medical malpractice claims. She also gained experience as a student attorney at the Health Justice Practicum in Boston working in partnership with Boston Medical Center’s Project RESPECT, and as a Legal Intern for the Office of the General Counsel at UMass Memorial Medical Center. While in law school, Sydney served as an editor for the Boston University Law Review, and sat on its Board as an Article Editor during her second year. In 2024, Sydney and her team placed first in the national Health Law Regulatory & Compliance Competition at the University of Maryland Penn Carey School of Law.
