Teen Arrested For Brutal Killing Of Baby Goat In Ashburnham
The baby goat, named Marshmallow, was led away into the woods and her throat was slashed.

ASBUBURNHAM, MA — A teenager from Groton has been arrested in connection with the brutal death of a baby goat that was lured from a pen in Ashburnham on Friday, according to reports.
Police received a report on Friday that the small goat was missing. It was found dead 100 yards from its pen. Officers reported that the pen had been cut open and the animal was intentionally led away into the woods up a trail.
Sgt. Wade Wright said the goat had a puncture wounds and its throat had been slashed, reports NECN.

The suspect is from the surrounding area and was arrested around 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Dominick Tidd, 18, will be arraigned on Monday in Winchendon District Court, charged with on cruelty to animals, larceny under $250, and destruction of property, reports the Boston Globe.

Owner Pat Stewart told NECN her goats are "like puppies," and she's been reeling since the death was discovered. Stewart raises these Nigerian dwarf goats and the goat that was killed, named Marshmallow, was her 6-year-old daughter's pet, said WBZ-TV.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
