Assistant District Attorney John H. Melander told the court that a preliminary report from the Office of the State Medical Examiner said that the cause of Joyce’s death was sharp trauma wounds. Judge Robert W. Gardner Jr. ordered Fawe held without bail and continued the case to Nov. 21. Fawe had been ordered held without bail by Judge Gardner on Oct. 6 following a dangerousness hearing on the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge, said the DA's office.
