Christmas Day Cell Phone Caper: MBTA Police Charge Woman

A woman allegedly made off with a cell phone that was charging in the station.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester woman is facing charges for allegedly trying to swipe a phone and take off with it from an MBTA station on Christmas Day.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 25, transit police in the North District got a call to respond to the Sullivan Square station for a disturbance. When officers got there, a man told them that he was charging his cell phone inside the station when he saw a woman, later identified as Jessica Jordon, 36, Worcester, swipe it from the charger and walk away.

The victim confronted Jordon and demanded she return his cell phone, said police. Jordon denied taking the phone and the victim called police, who were told by Jordon that an unknown male had stolen the phone. She also gave a fake name and other false info to officers, who put her into custody.
