Clark University Makes 'Best And Most Interesting' List: Survey

WORCESTER, MA—The “Fiske Guide to Colleges,” revised and updated for 2019, has again included Clark University in its profiles of more than 300 of the “best and most interesting” colleges in the United States, Canada and the U.K.

The Fiske Guide spans topics that include academic quality, student body, social life, financial aid, campus setting, housing, food, and extracurricular activities.

About Clark, it said, “Clark’s Liberal Education and Effective Practice (LEEP) education model is designed to prepare students for success after college by combining a liberal arts curriculum with ‘intensive world, workplace, and personal experiences.’”

The guide includes comments from students who speak to the campus culture and Worcester in general.

“What Clarkies have in common is that we all value our differences,” one student said in the findings. Another student described Worcester as “a city of hidden gems.”

The profile states, “Clark continues to challenge convention, pioneering new teaching methods, pursuing new fields of knowledge, and finding new ways to connect thinking and doing," and notes that the university began as an all-graduate institution but currently offers a “dynamic, undergraduate-focused educational environment.”

Also highlighted are the university’s strong offerings in psychology, geography, and international development and social change, as well as Clark’s Accelerated B.A./Master’s Program, which enables eligible students to get their master’s degree tuition-free, and Presidential LEEP Scholarships, which include full tuition, room, and board for four years. sciences, psychology, geography, management, urban education, Holocaust and genocide studies, environmental studies, and international development and social change.
