Clark University Worcester Scholarship Expands Geographic Area

Clark's University Park Partnership Scholarship zone is adding more than two dozen streets near its Worcester campus.

WORCESTER, MA — A Clark University scholarship program for Worcester students near the school's Main South campus is getting bigger.

The University Park Partnership zoning will add 26 streets in central Worcester, expanding the scholarship to an estimated 1,100 more local students, according to Clark.

The scholarship allows any resident who has lived in the neighborhood around Clark for more than five year at attend Clark tuition-free. About 165 residents have received the scholarship over the past 23 years.

"As neighbors and partners, our collective futures are tied," Clark Vice President of Government and Community Affairs Joseph Corazzini said in a news release. “We hope the young people in our community will take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience all that Clark has to offer.”

The UPP scholarship has gone to students from a variety of high schools around Worcester, but mostly to University Park Campus High School students. The school is a collaboration between Clark and Worcester Public Schools.

Students interested in the Clark UPP scholarship can attend an application and financial aid scholarship on Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Grace and Lurie Conference Rooms in the Higgins University Center, 950 Main St.
