Classical & Jazz Collide: Lark & Vignola in Worcester!

Music Worcester caps off its 2023-2025 season with a dazzling performance by violinist Tessa Lark and jazz guitarist Frank Vignola on Saturday, May 18th at the historic Tuckerman Hall.

This special concert promises an evening of captivating arrangements that bridge the gap between classical and jazz, old and new.

“We’re thrilled to present this unique collaboration in the intimate setting of Tuckerman Hall,” said Music Worcester Executive Director Adrien Finlay. “Lark and Vignola are both virtuosos in their respective genres, and together they’ll be reviving the infectious energy of the Hot Club style pioneered by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli.”

Violinist Takes Center Stage

Tessa Lark is a rising star in the classical world, praised for her exceptional technical skill and deeply expressive playing. A native of Kentucky, she is not only an acclaimed fiddler but also a GRAMMY-nominated artist and recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant.

Jazz Guitarist Makes His Mark

Frank Vignola is a name synonymous with jazz guitar excellence. Downbeat magazine lauded his “acoustic mastery,” highlighting his ability to weave intricate melodies, dazzling runs, and powerful riffs. A favorite among his peers, Vignola has earned a spot on Les Paul’s “Five Most Admired Guitarists List.” He has graced prestigious stages worldwide, from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall, and currently holds a residency at the famed Birdland Jazz Club in New York City.
