The festival takes over Mechanic's Hall this weekend, featuring horror films made in New England.

WORCESTER, MA — This weekend, Worcester will prove that you don't wait until Halloween to get scared.
The first "Dead of Winter Horror Festival" will take place this weekend at Mechanic's Hall, showing New England-made horror films, and giving horror buffs a chance to mingle.

Dead of Winter Horror Festival intends to create a yearly event showcasing the very best of New England Horror entertainment. Combining the sensibilities of both film festivals and conventions, this fresh hybrid event is a celebration of the rich bed of talent our area offers to the horror community.

It Came from the 508 Productions was formed in 2016 with the commitment to creating quality independent horror entertainment. After eight years and finding success with short films, podcasts, and YouTube shows, they have begun the process of entering the feature film space with "Stakes: A New England Vampire Story" and continue to grow their popular and critically acclaimed horror story podcast, "Beneath the Red Umbrella."
Magenta Manor Productions is a Massachusetts-based production company specializing in bringing you low-budget, high-quality films. Founded in 2023 by the husband-and-wife duo of Patrick Rahall and Ashes Homon-Rahall, Magenta Manor Productions celebrates the art and passion of independent filmmaking. Their mission is simple: to create, collaborate, and keep the spirit of independent film alive.
Manny Jae Media LLC is a Worcester, MA based production company founded in 2023focused on community media. Manny Alvarado, John Edward Keough and Leanne Silvia, with years of combined experience in entertainment, events and journalism, are focused on making sure underserved communities are highlighted and served.
Tickets are $20, which stays true to Manny Jae Media’s core values.
“We want the local community to be able to afford our events and get just as much access to the film world as anyone else," Manny Jae Media founder Manny Alvarado said.
