WORCESTER, MA — Drivers using I-190 in Worcester this weekend will encounter double lane closures during daytime hours, according to MassDOT.

The southbound lane closures will take place between 6 a.m. and noon both Saturday and Sunday on the bridge the crosses railroad tracks just north of the I-290 split. Construction crews will continue work sealing the deck of the bridge during the closures.

MassDOT crews performed similar deck-sealing work last week during weekday morning hours. The agency initially scheduled the work for between 6 a.m. and noon, but extended the work until 2 p.m.

MassDOT did not immediately announce any exit closures related to the work. Exit 1 to West Boylston Street is about a 1/2-mile ahead of the bridge over the rail tracks.

This weekend's construction work is weather-dependent.
