Neighbors told police that they saw the 2011 Toyota Camry, driven by the woman, head northwest on Lynnwood Lane, and at one point heard a loud screeching sound. The car, they said, was seen on the wrong side of the road hitting cones in the lane. The Toyota then accelerated, continued to travel in the opposite direction, drove through a stop sign at Barry Road, then straight across Barry Road, travel up onto the curb and into a large boulder in the front yard of 75 Barry Road. The Toyota received extensive front end damage.
It appeared to the neighbors that the two victims were trapped inside the vehicle and that both were unconscious. The Toyota was beginning to smoke.
