Green Hill Park Road Construction Project Starting Up
For about a month, drivers will have limited access to portions of the road that cuts between Channing and Belmont streets.

WORCESTER, MA — A long-planned repaving of the pock-marked Green Hill Parkway through the namesake park starts Monday.
The road project will take about a month, and will mean the full closure of the portion of the road between Channing Street and the rotary near the Vietnam memorial. Pedestrian access at that end of the park won't be closed off, but may be limited during construction hours.
Drivers looking to access the park will have to use the main entrance along Belmont Street for the entirety of the project. The road from the golf course entrance to near the Vietnam memorial will be closed intermittently.

During the closure, at least one parking lot will be fully closed, but access to attractions like the Vietnam memorial, Green Hill Farm petting zoo, the upper playground and pavilion may be limited.
Plans for the repaving have been in the works for more than a year. The repaving is one of several construction projects ongoing in the city's largest park, including the construction of a new materials facility near the Channing Street entrance, and the demolition of a former little league building across from Green Hill Pond.
