Head-On Collision In Leicester Is Fatal: 1 Dead, 1 Injured
An early morning head-on collision in Leicester has killed a 51-year-old man, according to police.

LEICESTER, MA—One person has died and a second sustained serious, but non-life threatening, injuries after an early morning crash in Leicester on Saturday.
The crash was a head-on collision on Route 56 (Pleasant Street) near King Street, with one of the vehicles, a 2008 Nissan, heading off the roadway and rolling over.
The operator of that vehicle was identified as Todd E. Williams, 51, of Webster. Williams had to be extricated from his vehicle and he was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, said police. The operator of a 1993 Cadillac which was the second vehicle involved was transported to U-Mass/Memorial – University Campus with serious but non-life threatening injuries. He has been identified as Anthony D. Vickers Jr., 51, of Rochdale.

The Life Flight helicopter from U-Mass/Memorial University Campus was called to the scene and landed a short distance from the crash site. The medical crew from the helicopter worked with Leicester emergency crews providing medical care, said police.
