Known Gang Member Arrested For Cocaine Trafficking: WPD

The man had three warrants out for his arrest.

WORCESTER, MA—A known gang member is facing several drug charges, including trafficking cocaine.

On Friday, the WPD Gang Unit got a call that Chad Jackson, 30, Seminole Drive, Worcester, was staying at a specific location, and Jackson had three outstanding arrest warrants. According to police, he's a known gang member and officers are familiar with him.

The officer set up surveillance and around 7:20 p.m., Jackson walked out of the address and into a black Toyota Corolla. The car took off with cops behind him, and he drove to the No Name Store on Vernon Street.

Jackson got out of the car and several units arrived after Jackson got back in his car and the driver drove off, stopping him at Providence and Harrison streets.

Several officers approached the Toyota and removed Jackson from the rear seat. A search of Mr. Jackson produced two cellphones, a digital scale, several hypodermic needles and 18.8 grams of crack cocaine.

Jackson was placed under arrest without incident for the warrants and additionally charged with Trafficking in Class B Substance (crack cocaine). Jackson will be arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Monday, March 5.
