Live Music Fans, You're Losing Another Amazing Venue

Tribute acts, cover bands and music fans are not going to applaud this news.

WORCESTER, MA—It's surely been a bad run as of recent months for live music venues, particularly those that cater to cover and tribute bands. Sakura Tokyo, The Kasbar, and another one, sadly, is closing its doors - effective immediately.

The Cannery Music Hall at the 12 Crane St. complex in Southbridge fell, too, to the crush of the economy, and a fickle audience that chooses the home theatre more often these days. Owners announced the closing on The Cannery's Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon.

"Mike and I have tendered our resignations from Twelve Crane Street Corporation effective immediately," said venue manager John Normington. "All shows booked for the remainder of 2018 are now cancelled.
Thank you to all our families, friends, customers and most importantly the musicians whom supported us since 2012. Thanks for the opportunity to be part of the fabric of the live music scene."
