Man, 23, Killed In Worcester Domestic Violence Incident

This is the third homicide in Worcester in two weeks. The latest killing happened in the Great Brook Valley area.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are investigating a fatal stabbing, which is at least the third homicide in the city over the last two weeks.

The department reported Friday that a 23-year-old man died after being stabbed in an apparent domestic violence incident. The stabbing happened near the Great Brook Valley area in northeast Worcester.

A person was in police custody in connection to the stabbing, but police did not either immediately identify them or announce charges.

The recent spate of killings began two Saturdays ago when Randy Armando Melendez Jr., 18, was shot and killed at Worcester State University. A fatal shooting Sunday along Grand Street left a 29-year-old man dead.

Also on Oct. 28, Worcester police responded to a hospital for a report of a person suffering from gunshot wounds who later died.
